Prof Gerry O’Sullivan is a Professor of Interventional Radiology at Galway University Hospital and Clinical Director at the Galway Clinic.
Following initial training in Cork, he obtained the MRCPI in Galway 1992 and went on to radiology training in the UK between 1993 to 1997.
Prof O’Sullivan went on to perform the fellowship in interventional radiology in St. Georges hospital London in 1997 /1998 and obtained the FRCR 1997 and CCST 1998.
He performed a one year fellowship in interventional radiology in Stanford California from 1998 to 1999 before taking for consultants position in Rush Presbyterian St Luke’s Medical center, Chicago, IL, 1999 to 2002; and then returned to Ireland in 2002 to take up his position as a consultant interventional radiologist in Galway University Hospital’s and the Galway clinic.
Prof O’Sullivan’s primary focus is now deep venous reconstruction and he remains very active in this area.
He is a member of the executive board of CIRSE and is chairperson of the membership committee of CIRSE.
